Position summary
The Valuations Operations Team at Noida invites academically bright candidates, who enjoy problem solving, delivering on challenging deadlines and constantly learning on the job, to apply for the position of Associate, Valuations Operations. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of finance professionals that are passionate about derivatives. The PV team serves marquee names in the finance industry helping them reduce risk, increase transparency and enhance operational efficiency.
The ideal Valuations Associate enjoys manipulating numbers, fitting curves, learning about valuations, supporting clients, and collaborating with geographically dispersed teams. A typical day of the Valuations analyst could comprise working Excel models, running valuations, monitoring feeds of critical data, understanding nuances of derivatives, on-boarding new clients, setting up new trades, resolving client queries etc.
Duties & accountabilities
The duties of an Associate include but are not limited to the following:-
- Monitoring of automated valuation systems and quality control in response to reported exceptions.
- Running manual valuation tools and processes, including trade data setup for complex derivatives.
- Responding to requests from clients including routine confirmations and price challenges.
- Managing market data activities associated with routine delivery of independent valuations to clients, including response to alerts, manual price checks etc.
- Ensuring continued and optimal availability of the Valuation Manager platform to all our clients.
- Monitoring of regular automated feeds coming in from various dealers to ensure consistency of data provided to end clients
- Working on requests from buy/ sell side firms to map client data on to Markits systems
- Complying with existing information security policies when sharing confidential data with end clients
- Participate in project to enhance product features and user testing
Education and experience
- Graduate degree with strong mathematical ability demonstrated by over 80% marks in Mathematics in their schooling, and good performance in quantitative subjects through their academic career
- An understanding of derivatives
- Demonstrated ability in the Microsoft Office suite, proficiency in Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Basic understanding of database structures
- VBA, SQL or other programming skills
- 0-2 years experience in valuations
- Experience in a client facing environment or in account management
Communication
- Ability to use persuasive language to convey ideas in a global team
- Strong verbal and written communication (client facing)
Teamwork
- Ability to collaborate in high-performance teams
